Israel Seeks 5G Investment from U.S. Telcos via Incentives/Rebates; Intel’s 5G Role

September 28, 2018 by Alan Weissberger

Israel Ministry of Communications director general Netanel (Nati) Cohen will try to interest overseas telecommunications companies in taking part in fifth generation cellular trials in Israel. Cohen will also try to introduce American investors into the Israeli telecommunications market. Cohen is accompanying Minister of Communications Ayoob Kara, who is part of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s entourage for his visit to New York to attend the UN General Assembly.

The ministry’s idea is to try to restore interest in the Israeli telecommunications market on the part of international companies, which have refrained from investment in Israel in recent years. The plan is to provide incentives in the form of rebates in exchange for acquiring frequencies and rolling out the network.

Many small cell antennas, shown mounted on a pole above, will be needed for 5G frequency re-use within a given geographical area.

During his visit to New York, Mr. Cohen will reportedly meet with representatives of US telecoms giant Verizon and propose that the company should participate in 5G trials to be held at Bar Ilan University in conjunction with Israeli mobile carriers. Meetings will also be held with representatives of Lockheed Martin, with the aim of persuading the company to expand its investment in Israel.

The idea is also to conduct trials in IoT (Internet of Things), and to take advantage of the fact that there are many technology companies in Israel in areas of interest to the US companies, and to bring them into the initiative as well.

Mobile carriers throughout the world have been cutting back on investment in new wireless infrastructure, because of the fierce competition in the industry and the erosion of revenue. At the same time, no solution has been found for the high fees that the carriers pay the state for frequencies, which result in them foregoing frequency allocations simply because they cannot meet the fee payments.

Israel government ministries have hired the services of InfoSight Consulting, which is working together with Beta Finance to formulate for the state a new frequency fee structure, as the high payments that the companies make for frequencies, around New Israeli Shekel (currency in Israel) 300 million annually, diminish their incentive to invest and represent a heavy tax on them.

The state will probably try to find a formula whereby carriers will pay more for “quality” frequencies, and much less for lower-quality high frequencies. In any event, the model will be determined before the fifth generation auction slated to take place this December. The new generation of networks will allow considerably faster data transfer.

Lockheed Martin has a big presence in Israel first supporting the Lockheed Martin C130 aircraft sales to Israel back in the 1970s. Lockheed Martin purchased General Dynamics’ F16 fighter program demonstrating the strong bond between Israel and Lockheed Martin. Lockheed Martin then set up new offices in Israel to handle the F35 program under which Israel has “purchased” 50 of the new Lockheed Martin F35 aircraft. Israel tech firms were involved in engineering and manufacturing of the high tech electronic systems in the $400,000 per helmet used by F35 pilots.

The Internet of Things (IoT) will depend on 5G technology and so it isn’t surprising that Israel’s Qualcomm, which is discussed briefly in the following news article, is leading the way. 5G is sort of “an umbrella leading the way covering many aspects of this communications technology”, and the IoT will be what 5G is mostly used for. Qualcomm being a leading global developer of chips and processors for mobile communications networks having a development center in Hod Hasharon.

Qualcomm is leading some of the most advanced technology – “the DNA of mobile communications”. Considering that Qualcomm develops chips and processors, Qualcomm has filed a lawsuit against Apple, accusing Apple of “stealing secrets and giving them to Intel”. Intel in Israel manufacturers some of the most advanced microprocessors in the world with Intel investing $5 billion in one of its manufacturing plants in Israel where there are several Intel locations. Israel also looks like it is setting up its tech companies to lead in the development of IoT.

Israeli Operations Key To Intel’s ‘All-In’ 5G Strategy

by Diane Israel • July 18, 2018

The history of computing has been largely a tale of developing amazing applications for which processing speeds were insufficient to make these innovations practical. In other words, the adage that “content is King” is only the case because of speed bottlenecks. But with 5G (fifth generation wireless technology) on the horizon, we may be on the verge of a new Monarchy. The Speed King.

Segments from the following were originally published by NoCamels.com.

What is 5G?

Fifth-generation wireless, or 5G, is the latest iteration of cellular technology, engineered to greatly increase the speed and responsiveness of wireless networks. With 5G, data transmitted over wireless broadband connections could travel at rates as high as 20 Gbps by some estimates — exceeding wireline network speeds — as well as offer latency of 1 ms or lower for uses that require real-time feedback. 5G will also enable a sharp increase in the amount of data transmitted over wireless systems due to more available bandwidth and advanced antenna technology. Thirty to fifty times fast than 4G. The impact will be revolutionary, making home appliances smart, surgical robots even smarter and more precise, drones ubiquitous and artificial intelligence downright scary!

Intel’s history

American PCU processing giant Intel dominates the PC and server processor market, netting about 80 percent of the market worldwide. But as far as the mobile revolution is concerned, Intel missed the boat. Previous attempts to enter the smartphone market have been mediocre at best. But it has had considerable success in entering the mobile market. And with 5G it plans to go from player to dominator. The company is in a transition, adopting a data-centric model that is all about 5G.

And Intel’s Israel operations are playing a key role in the overhaul. This means that its innovative products, already ubiquitous, will be even more so. “New hardware will basically be in all aspects: data collection by new sensors (e.g. Mobileye), communication (e.g 5G), computing (e.g artificial intelligence),” Ben Sinai says. An ambitious move into the mobile phone market is also in the offing, as it is “certainly an ingredient” in Intel’s wider vision.

And Intel Israel, he says, is a “very important design center of Intel Corporation, leading some of its strategic developments in the area of computing, communication, security and more.”

Automotive and cybersecurity

Intel also has another edge. Last year, the company acquired the Jerusalem-based Mobileye, a developer of cutting-edge autonomous driving technologies, for a whopping $15.3 billion. Mobileye is considered a leader in advanced driver assistance systems – including pedestrian detection, collision warning – aimed to prevent road collisions. The acquisition marked Intel’s entry into the vibrant automotive market, and the industry plays a central role in Intel’s vision for the future.

“Autonomous cars will need constant, fast communications, they will move in sync on their own network,” Ben Sinai says, envisioning a future with zero accidents, a better environment due to expected reduced car ownership, and a transformed transportation industry which he says will have to adjust to accommodate self-driving cars.

As for the potential dangers posed by mass connectivity, Intel, he says, “is always thinking about security, and established a division at the Intel management level dedicated to looking for breaches and vulnerabilities.”

The bottom line is this. Intel now sees how IoT (Internet of Things) is redefining what the end device looks like. It’s no longer just a computer or a smartphone, and intends to have its technology in all these things, pun intended.

ISRAEL DOMINATES IN ALL HIGH TECHNOLOGY CATEGORIES

[Persian Nationalist] History of Israeli Tech Domination | Israel has violated US law by re-exporting US military technology to China, yet they have never been held to bear any consequences.

How did Israel get access to US high technology and intellectual property? It all began in the 1970s, when the US and Israeli governments formed BIRD (Israel-United States Bi-national Industrial Research and Development) Foundation. BIRD funds joint partnerships between Israeli and American companies, with 50 percent of its funding coming from the US government. That’s right, our taxpayer money is funding Israeli industry, while our infrastructure is in shambles. This quote from a Bloomberg article is Talpiot in action, “The company [BIRD] promotes joint industrial R&D between American and Israeli companies. They provide a maximum of $1.2 million funding per project. BIRD-supported projects allow leading Israeli technology companies to access key world class-US companies and establish business ties.” There you go, US government funded BIRD gives Israeli tech companies access to “world-class US companies.” That is where the Israeli high tech industry gets its lifeblood. Using this access to US industry, Israel set up a massive espionage operation in the United States to steal secret US defense secrets, military technology, and intellectual property in the early 1980s.

One operative, Jonathan Pollard, was caught in this operation. Pollard was a US intelligence agent/Israeli spy who stole thousands of documents revealing the methods used by the US for signal intelligence gathering. From then on, Israel had the same intelligence gathering capabilities as the United States. Without Pollard, Israel would never have been able to engage in signal intelligence gathering, which means that the infamous Israeli companies tied to 9/11: Amdocs and Verint, would never have been formed. But Pollard was just the tip of the iceberg. There was a whole Israeli Espionage Network surrounding and working with Pollard, including guys like Richard Perle, Frank Gafney JR, Douglas J. Feith, John F. Lehman Jr, and Paul Wolfowitz.

All this technology that Israel has stolen was developed by tax payer money through DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency). Nearly all of Apple’s technology was developed by DARPA. Google emerged through DARPA technology and the CIA’s MDDS (Massive Digital Data Systems) project, and Facebook raised its initial capital through an investment from Peter Thiel, whose data mining company, Palantir, was first funded by the CIA Venture capital firm, In Q Tel.

Furthermore, there are Zionist fingerprints all over tech giants like Google and Facebook. Google was initially partly funded by American Jew, Andy Bechtolsheim, the co founder of the tech firm, Sun Microsystems, which has a major R&D center in Israel. Many other tech firms including Google, Facebook, IBM, Motorola, Microsoft, Qualcomm, and Apple have R&D centers in Israel as well.

Why would these firms choose to have R&D centers near Tel Aviv? Tel Aviv is the ninth most expensive city in the world. Furthermore, it would make more sense economically to have R&D centers in a place like Bangladesh where wages are significantly lower with a similar supply of high tech workers. https://talpiottalk.com/2018/08/10/persian-nationalist-history-of-israeli-tech-domination-israel-has-violated-us-law-by-re-exporting-us-military-technology-to-china-yet-they-have-never-beared-any-consequences/

Qualcomm Incorporated is an American multinational semiconductor and telecommunications equipment company that designs and markets wireless telecommunications products and services. Two of the founders of Qualcomm are Irwin Mark Jacobs and Andrew Viterbi who are both Jewish. Irwin Mark Jacobs as a co-founder and former chairman of Qualcomm, in 2013, Irwin Mark Jacobs announced a $133 million gift for a project with Cornell University calling the project the “Technion-Cornell Institute”. Although it was reported that Technion had won a “competition” allowing it to set up the Technion-Cornell Institute in New York, understanding that the mayor of New York at the time, was Michael Bloomberg who is also Jewish, it is unlikely it was anything but competitive.

Cornell Tech is an engineering campus located on Roosevelt Island in Manhattan, New York City. It was financially secured by the Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute with the $133 million, a joint academic venture between Cornell University and the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. This means any advanced technology developed at Cornell Tech, Israel’s Technion will have access to. Irwin Mark Jacob’s connection to Israel goes back to when he started the company Linkabit.

Linkabit was a technology company founded in 1968 by Irwin M. Jacobs, Andrew Viterbi and Leonard Kleinrock. Linkabit and alumni have created a large number of technology companies, most notably, Qualcomm with offices in Israel. Linkabit is currently a division of L-3 Communications (now L-3 Technologies). L-3 Technologies are now working with Israel defense electronics companies and related tech firms to build advanced drones.

L-3 Technologies are located in New York, with offices in Canada and in Israel, and so will likely have access to technological advances being studied at Technion-Cornell. Linkabit had a R&D development center in Haifa, Israel and most of its employees came out of Technion. There is a very close connection between Israel’s Unit 8200 (Israel’s “NSA”) and Technion. There are Unit 8200 graduates who sit on the council of Technion.

Caution is advised on the significance of this 5G technology in regards to it being “destructive and dangerous”. News was put out suggesting that 5G technology was not going to be used in Israel. After doing a little checking around, it does seem as though Israel will also being setting up infrastructure for 5G. 5G will be the foundation for five new emerging technologies: Millimetre Waves; Small Cells; Massive MIMO; Beamforming; Full Duplex.

Thousands of studies link low-level wireless radio frequency radiation exposures to a long list of adverse biological effects, including:

• DNA single and double strand breaks
• oxidative damage
• disruption of cell metabolism
• increased blood brain barrier permeability
• melatonin reduction
• disruption to brain glucose metabolism
• generation of stress proteins

It is suggested readers listen to these following discussions then read the PDF file on Millimetre Waves. This might be a good start to learn more about the effects of 5G on the human body and particularly the skin so that readers can reach your own conclusion. Of course, it goes without saying, the more the public demands more communications technology these high tech communications firms will certainly provide it including 5G technology.
